If you have lost your pet we understand the anxiety behind the situation and are here to help.

Please take proactive steps before calling the Animal Shelter:

1. Look and post on facebook to see if someone has already posted your pet or has your pet in safekeeping.
2. Fill out our Lost and Found Application. IF we have an animal matching your description or another application matching your description we will reach out to you.

If after these steps you do not hear from us please consider calling:

• Friends of Coos County Animal's
• Kohls Cat House
  - Cat's only

If you have found a pet and intend on bringing it to the shelter; please call to make sure we have room before catching the animal. 

If you pick up an animal and intend on taking care of it until you can find it  new home or keeping the animal you must hang onto the animal for 90 days while actively trying to find the owner before officially claiming or rehoming the animal.

Please understand and be prepared that any and all vet, grooming etc. care is your financial responsibility while the animal is in your care.

If you find an animal and cannot take care of the animal and the shelter is full please consider calling the above mentioned resources. If they are also unable to care for the animal please leave it where it is; as often times dogs just take a stroll and will go back home shortly.

Anyone who dumps an animal somewhere or leaves them at the shelter without appropriate intake by a staff member is subject to animal abandonment charges.
